Ceramist and designer Ole Jensen has cleaned up his act. Forget that hard, immovable tub you currently have in your bathroom. Ole wants you to go soft and take your eau natural body, eau natural. Made of white EPDM rubber and cork, this soft tub was designed to be a simple option for outdoor fun, healing or washing up. Simply hook up the umbilical cord to your water source and the tub fills from the bottom up. When done, just unplug the hose. So next time Moby comes over and smells his usual ripe self, just send him out back and watch some good clean fun under the sun.

Imagine whole, furnished spaces completely opening up like a pop-up book. The “Space Book” execution is a little iffy, but the concept is pretty novel. It would be amazing to see a social art project where homeless individuals are given Space Books, providing a total juxtaposition to their current living standards.

richard hutton leaf magnets
I’ve a huge fan of magnets over tape or pins when it comes to posting up your doodles on walls. I usually suggest the cool ergo Magnutz, but after seeing Leaf Magnets by Richard Hutton, I can’t help but think how cool it would be to have a small forest of leaves along with your sketches connecting you with nature a bit more in your more than likely windowless cubicle, meeting room, or boring office space.

They seem easy to pull off+on and come in a few colors though I’m in my neon bright butt color phase now…so where are the neon bright autumn leaf colors?

Very cool! I want many!

I'm intrigued by vignettes around the house and I'm overly fond of natural and found objects lately. I guess that's why I'm drawn to these beautiful images styled by Thom Driver. So delicate, so faded, so ethereal yet so natural. Autumn is on the way in the southern hemisphere and these are just the right images to get me in the mood. Love his work!

The ABRACADABRA bookmark aims to make finding where you left off and opening to that page easier. I didn’t know it was an issue but now I hate my ordinary paper bookmark. The ABRACADABRA contains an air-filled chamber, half of which is flattened by the weight of a book. Squeezing the exposed side inflates the concealed side lift the page just enough for your finger to slip in.

And just for fun and giggles, old ABRACADABRAS can be arranged on a paper pot. Yea, a paper tree, a paper pot, and graphics that look like something else.

Every year, here in the U.S., during the Christmas holiday season, televisions airwaves are filled with commercials for some of the silliest gift ideas ever invented. Year after year we are inundated with ads trying to get you to succumb to the charms of legendary products like the magnetized “miracle-cure” bracelet, 9/11 Commemorative Collectable Coin, US Civil War Chess Sets and the king of all useless items, the Chia Pet. In case you are not familiar with this icon of campy fun, the Chia Pet is a ceramic head, on which you would plant a packet of seeds and grow a natural green head of green hair. It was an absurd idea at best but had a certain innocent charm that continues to sell well year after year. It might have been this yearly brain washing that inspired this “Another Bloomin’ Designer” business card by Jamie Wieck. The lucky recipient of this business card is treated to an extra feature not commonly found on most business cards…life! Just soak the bottom of the card, wait four days and voila! You got green!

Ring faucet is about experiencing water in a whole new way in our daily lives - to rediscover the awe-inspiring beauty of water in a small home faucet. This unique faucet visually frames flowing water in a circular fashion, giving you a full view of the water just as it falls over the edge. The opening orifice at the spout end lets in natural light which illuminates the flowing water for a striking view. Water is ‘reinstated’ as a precious element, like a fine diamond. The external form is simple and pure, as befits a faucet that is meant to emphasize the elemental beauty of water. The simple form allows the design to be easily translated into a series of faucets that cater to different settings and requirements. While the design is novel in terms of aesthetics, the sense of comfort in using a familiar domestic fitting is not lost as the faucet is designed to adopt the conventional interface of the hot and cold - handles basin mixer. Moreover, this tripartite arrangement fits in well with large basins and/or vanity tops.
